Video Tutorial:

Watch the video tutorial above to see how to make the jalapeno poppers. I always recommend watching the video tutorial at least once prior to attempting the recipe so you can see how the mix should look throughout each step of the process. When you’re ready to make the jalapeno poppers the written instructions are below.

Method:

  1. Preheat your oven to 160C (approximately 320F).
  2. Slice the jalapenos in half and deseed them. Wear gloves while doing this.
  3. Prepare a tray to put the jalapenos in, spraying it with oil or lightly coating it in butter.
  4. Place the jalapenos in the tray and cook them in the oven for 10 minutes to soften them.
  5. While the jalapeno cooks dice the bacon and red onion into small pieces.
  6. Spray a frying pan with oil. Fry the bacon and red onion pieces in the pan until crispy. Set aside.
  7. Once the jalapenos have finished cooking take them out and set them on the side to cool, leave the oven on.
  8. Mix together the cream cheese, 1/2 a cup of the cheese (save the other 1/2 for later), lime juice, salt and sriracha
  9. Mix the bacon and onion into the cream cheese filling.
  10. Using a spoon fill the jalapenos with the cream cheese filling.
  11. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 a cup of shredded cheese over the jalapenos.
  12. Cook the jalapenos in the oven for 15 minutes until the cheese has melted.

We also put together guides on other aspects of our travels, such as detailed information on the gear we use, specifics on our van build and tips for van life. Our goal with this website and the guides we write is to help others travel.

At the moment we are currently doing the big lap of Australia in our self converted Sprinter van. Our goal is to continue to push ourselves outside our comfort zone; seeking new adventures, learning about new cultures and seeing as much of the world as possible.
